The icy lock has gripped much of the country. It’s bad here. It’s worse in other parts. We’re talking staggering below zero readings. So cold that volunteers are walking the streets around the favorite homeless hangouts trying to encourage people to come in from the cold and into shelters now open. That could be lifesaving.
Meanwhile, the weekend is approaching and it looks like a warm up. At least as warm as January can be.
