Stealing is wrong. It’s against the law. And depending on your religious beliefs…it’s a direct violation of the eighth commandment.
Since a certain portion of society thinks rules, laws and commandments are meant to be broken why not plan ahead if you are going to take part in thievery? I mean if you are going to be dumb enough to commit a crime, don’t be a criminal who is dumb. Haven’t you heard about dumb criminals and how they get made fun of on television, the radio and now blogs?
Take the guy who got stuck in the chimney while trying to rob a house. The woman who called police because her neighbor stole her drugs. Or the guy who actually fell asleep inside the house he was ripping off AFTER eating all the food in the refrigerator! These are true stories and they happen all the time.
Let me be timely and localize this blogging. You knew I would eventually bring it around. Middletown, Ohio this week. Police charged a Cincinnati man with stealing a big-screen T.V. And like the priceless line from the movie, JAWS: “We’re going to need a bigger boat.” This guy needed a bigger car.
Richard North was stopped this week when officers noticed his Mercury Sable going down the road with a huge, 55-inch flat-screen television hanging out the door. Yes, “hanging” out the door. And guess what? Just a short time before that, police responded to an alarm at an appliance store. It seems someone smashed in the front door and you won’t believe what was taken.
Richard North is charged with breaking and entering. And since there is always a good woman behind every man… Richard’s wife is also charged because she was along for the ride.
Going to jail for allegedly committing a dumb crime is bad enough. Now you have to put up with being called a dumb criminal. I wonder which will hurt more?
